Large Amount of Text on 1 Slide

Nov 11, 2014

Hi, I am creating a quiz with storyline.  This is for a continuing education course.  I have a content review button on each question slide that links to a slide with text based content. My reviewing agency says I can't do this because in essence i am providing the learner the answers.  Is there any way to include 2500-8000 words on one slide in Storyline?  This would enable me to include content review buttons but it would link to all the content of the course, not just a small portion of it. Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

sorry don't know about limits.  What I did was create a word doc with the xx number of words and then copy/pasted that into SL scrolling panel.  You could test that way.

There are a few threads on here about scrolling panels on Ipad...you might want to search 'scrolling on ipad' and see what comes up.

Here's one to get you started - it's talking about a lightbox scroll but as you get further into it it's discussing scrolling panels in general.

Good luck!

I published and included HTML5 output.  Uploaded to my LMS.  I can view the scrolling panel on my desktop computer fine.  It works perfect.  When I try to view on my iPad, I see the scrolling panel, but as I scroll through using my fingers, there is no content visible.  No content what so ever.  Any idea what I am doing wrong?  Or, what is happening???

Thanks!

Hi Lindsay

this is from a thread Ashley from Articulate posted:

Are you using the two finger scroll method described here? Also the scrolling panel itself wont' show up until you begin scrolling. This is currently by design but if you'd like to see a different behavior it would be helpful if you submitted a feature request.

In regards to your Galaxy tab, although your content may work on some Android devices we do not officially support Android devices or browsers. Click here to review the system requirements for authoring and viewing Storyline content.

If you'd like to see official support for a particular mobile device, we welcome your feature requests.

Hi Wendy,

Attached is the published file.  The scrolling panel works perfect on my desktop/laptop computer.  When I view on my iPad, the scrolling panel is blank.  Any help is greatly appreciated!!  To get to the scrolling panel(s), click the "Content Review" button on the quiz question pages.

Thanks!

Lindsay

PS - I also attached the storyline file.

Hi Lindsay

I opened your SL file and published - then uploaded to dropbox and copied the public link for the course.

I emailed the link to myself and opened on my ipad.  It automatically opened the AMP that I have installed.  I was able to access the content review section and scroll on the scroll bar to move the window up and down. See screenshot.

Let me know if you want me to send you the link I have to the published output see if that makes any difference on your ipad

Hi Wendy!  Thanks for testing that!  Yes, if you could send me the link so I can test on my iPad that would be great!  I am thinking maybe it is because I do not have the AMP installed.  Do you think that is required for the scrolling box to work?  I was hoping not, as I do not want my learners to be required to download software.  I am launching the scorm file through an LMS.  Was hoping it would play correctly within the browser on my iPad.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Lindsay
