Lessons buttons in order (only clickable after previous button/lesson is completed)

May 02, 2018

Hi there! I feel like I should know this, but I have several courses I am building in Storyline 360 that start with a "Lessons slide" (just several shapes with topic titles that when clicked, take the learner to that lesson). I have two questions:

1. How do I force the learner to complete these in order? For example, the first button is Introduction, the second button is Behavioral Health Defined. How do I "disable" the second button until they return to the Lessons slide after completing the Introduction?

2. At the end of the course, they can either review it from the beginning or go straight to the assessment. If they go back to review it, can I make the buttons all clickable in any order since they have already completed the course in order?

Thank you!

Hi Rachel

Set the initial state of Button 2 to disabled in the States Tab > Edit states, then set a trigger to change the state of Button 2 to normal when timeline starts on the slide on condition Button 1 = completed (or whatever your state is that defines this)

Hi Rachel

if you set the slide to resume saved state, the buttons should all be clickable.

If you are having issues upload your .story file and someone can take a look for you
