Lightbox Slide - can you make it "unclickable"
Feb 13, 2015
Hello there Articulate Storyline 2 gurus!
I am hoping someone can help me out.
I currently have a free-form drag and drop slide in the middle of a course I am creating. There are no 'correct' answers, I simply want users to drag and drop their "top 5 choices" from a large list of items, and then provide a rationale for their selection in a text entry field.
I want users to be able to review their selection at the end of the course, after more information has come to light. I have created a lightbox back to this slide, but the issue is that this drag and drop slide is still interactive, meaning they can change their original selections and/or modify their justification.
Is it possible to lightbox to a previous slide but not allow the user to edit.
Alternatively, does anyone have any brainwaves on how to link back to a read-only view of a previous slide, or even take a screenshot of a completed slide and then insert it into a later slide?
Any help would be much appreciated!

You could add a transparent shape to your d/d slide. This shape 'covers' the d/d items and is only displayed if the slide is shown in a lightbox. See attached a quick example.
Hi Michael,
Thanks so much for the speedy reply!
Your example works perfectly for what I want, but I can't seem to apply it to my example.
For some reason I can still drag the items even through the 'cover' has become un-hidden.
I have attached the storyline file, would appreciate if you could see where I may be going wrong.
There was a rogue JumpToNextSlide trigger before the Submit interaction trigger. See attached a revised file.
Gah I should have known! That is usually the problem with all my work!
Thank you so much for all your help Michael, fantastic and simple solution to my problem!
Glad that Michael was able to assist you here Jason :)
