Link to pdf document in Storyline
Jul 27, 2016
Hi there,
I need to give students the option to go to a pdf if they click a picture on one of my slides. I read a post from a few years ago about this and believe when I use a trigger to 'jump to url/file' and then link to a saved pdf, that pdf should have been saved in the story_content folder in a subfolder called 'external_files'. When I publish to CD and share via Dropbox, I can see the pdf file in the external files folder, however when I am actually testing the course I get a warning pop-up that says the file 'cannot be viewed locally because your browers does not support it'.
If anyone can help to explain why, I would be so appreciative! I am really not tech-savvy at all, so please keep that in mind with your explanations :) Thank you!
Kristen

Javascript - code that powers the jump to url/file - isn't supported with local or CD content. Here's one such post with more details
