Links opening from within a web object
Jul 15, 2016
I know this is a long shot, but I've got a slide with a web object that points to an externally-hosted PDF. The PDF has links, and if a user clicks on the links within the web object it kicks them out of the module altogether and doesn't save their progress.
Within HTML, you can have a link open in another window ... I don't suppose you can do something like that here? For now I'm just linking to a PDF where the links don't work, but it would be nice if I could find a way for the links to open in another window and leave the Storyline module alone.

Hi Anneke!
I'm having a hard time envisioning this scenario. Are you saying that clicking on the link within the pdf opens in the same window that your project is in? Have you checked the settings within your browser to launch links in a new window perhaps?
Yes - that's what happens.
I can try changing my browser settings. But that would probably mean users would need to change their settings too, correct?
If you would like me to take a look first, please share your .story file and the steps to re-create.
Sure! The problematic slide is 4.1.
Oh - you know what? That's not going to work for you because our LMS server, where the PDFs are hosted, is offline today while they relocate. So maybe more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks for your help, though!
Hi Anneke!
I got your note Friday, so I did not look at the course until today...hoping your server would be back up.
I took a look at slide 4.1 and I'm not seeing another link to choose within the pdf. Can you share the steps to re-create the issue?
