LMS not showing course as Complete/Incomplete??

Jun 29, 2014

Hi,

I'm working with a client and I've uploaded a course into their LMS which consists of just 23 slides that automatically transition to each slide but when the users watches all the slides and exits the course, the LMS does not record the course as Complete or when the user views only 5 slides, Incomplete. I've setup the reporting and tracking in Storyline when publishing to LMS but no luck. I'm trying now to publish in a different version of SCORM, first used 1.2, then 2004 3rd Edition and now 2004 4th Edition. Is it common to have these issues? I'm not aware of the LMS in terms of type or brand so can't shed any light on that but Storyline should work if its published to the SCORM standards, shoudn't it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Marcus,

Make sure the tracking is based on number of slides viewed instead of a quiz result. I woud also suggest testing at SCORM Cloud  which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.

Here is a blog with some more LMS related issues: http://www.articulate.com/blog/troubleshooting-lms-issues/

Good luck.

Hi Marcus

Depending on the LMS being used you may have to change the Report Status - this controls the terminology used by the course output to report completion to the LMS, different LMS use different options.

You say you don't know which LMS is being used, but you do need to find out from your client (or get them to find out from their LMS vendor) which of the Report Status options is needed.

There's a screenshot attached to show you where this is.
