When I copied a slide from one version to another it seems to have caused the loss of most of the vector images in the project. The project still has them shoing in the timeline, but you cannot view them.
Quick question - how are you copying the slide from one project to another? If possible, please make sure you're not copying and pasting from one project to another. This can cause some issues.
If you need to reuse slides in a new project, you'll want to insert them into the project.
I'm having the same problem, only I haven't copied these slides. My course was working fine until I clicked on a particular slide and found that all the images and the audio had disappeared. Upon clicking on more slides, I found that all the images and audio had disappeared - except on the timeline and in the story view.

Erm....is there an "official" line on that, as it's the first I have ever heard of it.
I frequently do this, in terms of items that are "reusable" across courses, music, images, videos etc.
This is a pretty standard way of working, and (like any other application I have come across...) I would have assumed that it was an error-free process.
It may explain why some of my projects have EXACTLY these symptoms, (all sound/image/video media items disappear/corrupt/"grey square of death"). The bad news is that I have never been able to recover the courses - they require a rebuild from scratch.
Sorry to open a can of worms - however - this is a bit of a surprise.
If you've already submitted a support case, please share the case numbers with us here. This way we can update the thread when the issue is resolved, or share any other tips from our support team.
@Bruce:
There's no "official" statement on this - this is from my personal experience troubleshooting files both here and with the support team. I've seen some pretty strange results when developers copy and paste between project files and I've seen a lot of discussion on this on the forums. It's "recommended" :) It may be system-specific, and I wouldn't stay it's going to happen to everyone, every time, but it has been the cause of some issues for some developers and I'd rather see the trouble avoided if possible.
No problem on the worms, if it's something that saves you time and extra work down the road, I'm glad it was brought to your attention!
Unfortunately 3 years after this original discussion this is still an issue. I agree, being able to copy and paste from another project seems to be a reasonable functionality that doesn't exist. Having to import a slide from another project when all you want is to copy the graphic is a clunky solution.
Hi there, CY. We're revisiting copy and paste functionality to and from Storyline with our developers. I'm going to make sure this discussion is included in our documentation so that we can update you here with any changes.

If you try this and still have trouble, or if you have any questions, please let us know.
Thanks!

Hi Rebecca,
You might want to submit a support case as that is definitely not normal SL behaviour (your files will be kept confidential when you send them)
Hope this helps
Ah...I was looking for that. Thanks for the link, Harri C!
