I have a simple scene consisting of just one slide. I entered notes at the bottom and now want to display them in the sidebar. I made all the selections mentioned in the tutorial. However, when I click OK and publish, the notes are still at the bottom.
I'm not sure I fully understand your issue as I believe that the 'notes' can only be placed on the sidebar or on the left or right of the top bar (above the slide).
Are you able to post a screen shot of what you are seeing and/or the .story file of your project?
Presumably you've checked the notes option in the player settings under 'features'.
You may also need to check that the slides have the notes option checked, to do this check the settings (the cog like icon on the bottom right of each slide) and select the player features.
