Marker Heading text displaying with white background

Feb 24, 2016

I've recently run into a problem with marker text boxes in Storyline 2.  See attached screenshot - note that the field for the heading text is white when it is supposed to the same shaded red as the rest of the marker.  I can't find any way to undo this, and I've never had this happen before.  It's doing it every time I add a marker with colored background. When I'm typing or editing that heading text, the background changes back to red.  However, once I click outside of it, it turns white.

I've tried importing a slide from a previous course that has the marker without the white background in the header, setting that correct version of the marker as the default, but it still changes the background of the heading to white!

I am exasperated!  Help!!

Hey there K P!

It looks like you started a similar discussion thread over here, so I wanted to link the two for anyone following along.

Are you working from your local hard drive and from the latest update of Storyline 2 (Update 11)? Also, do you see this in any Storyline file, or just this one in particular? You may want to try to import the slides into a new file to see if that helps any.

If you're still having trouble, share your file here, and we'll be happy to take a look around!

I see lot of people bugged by background color in the Title section in a marker call out box. I came across an old Storyline file that had blue background in the title section. Unlike others, I liked it. I have spend a whole day thinking about how to do that and I am not able to recreate it. It is either you have a background color for Title section as well as the Comments section or you do not have background color.

I just need background color in the Title section.

Good morning, Lucia!

Thank you for those screenshots. Those visuals seem like a close match to an issue we found in Storyline, where a marker label takes the color fill of the first placeholder of its slide master.

If you don't mind sharing the .story file with our Support team through the secure link below, we'd love to verify whether or not that bug is affecting your file!
