I'm using Storyline 360 and I need some help regarding the functionality of variables in master slide.
I've created a sample project: I defined one numeric variable (Test), inserted an object with motion path animation and I've set the variable's value to 1 when the animation has ended. Because the slide master does not count this variable (Use Count = 0) the variable do not work.
Have I done something wrong? Please check the attachment with this message.
I've taken a look at your sample, everything you did is right.
Adjust variable trigger is working fine, by changing it's value from 0 to 1 when the animation ends.Only mistake is in debugging, you are trying to check the variable value inside in an Input box which has a variable of it's own. So, %Test% is rendered as plain text.
Instead, you could use a text box to check your text variable by putting %Test% where you can see the value change.
If you want to see the variable change in Input box itself and not in a text box. I've done it for you in the attachment.

In addition, I would like to know why while renaming any of the two numeric variables works, and on the triggers panel the names are instantaneously updated, it seems that the slide master does not counts these variables (Use Count = 0).
I understand that my mistake is only in debugging and the variable trigger is working fine.

I'm glad Godwin was able to assist you with debugging this since I missed your reply last Friday and it does appear the variable and it's associated trigger are working now? As for the use count of the variable not updating, that is something that has been identified as a bug per our previous discussion in Storyline 2 and Storyline 360 - so I'll ensure that both these discussions are linked to the report filed with our team so that we can update you here once there is additional information to share.
