Menu slide numbering goes haywire after publishing

Hi
I'm seeing a problem with the slide numbering after publishing (Web - HTML5 only format, viewing in Chrome). With the "Number entries in the menu automatically" player option switched on, I can see the slide numbers in the menu. But when I click the Next button to move through the module, the slide numbering in the menu goes haywire. Slide 1.1 becomes 0.1, Scene 3 becomes Scene 1 etc. See attached screenshot.
I don't think I've seen this before, so just wondering whether it's related to the recent Modern/Classic player update?
We use slide numbering in lots of our modules, so this is quite a big issue for us.
Thanks
PS - Looks like a Chrome issue. It's fine in Edge and IE11.

Hi Dayn,
Hmm, that's definitely odd. Thanks for bringing this up to us!
I'm having trouble recreating this menu issue in a new file. Would you mind sharing your sample file with me? I'll try and nail down why this is happening.
Thanks!
Hi Alyssa
No problem. File attached.
Thanks
Hi Dayn,
Thanks for sharing your file here! Really helpful and confirmed that it's the same issue our team is investigating where Menu numbering is incorrect in Chrome if "Number entries in the menu automatically" is enabled and this is only occurring in the HTML5 output.
I'll include your file as an example for our team, and we'll keep you posted here with any other updates.
I also reported this and was recently updated by Robert de la Cuesta of the support team:
I received information from our engineers that the issue with the numbering in the Player Menu is with Google Chrome itself and it has an open bug about how the counter does weird things when you change the display of containing elements. Here is the article with the details of the bug:
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=822260
Our team mentioned that the positive thing is that this is a recent bug (reported March 15th), so it may see some movement. For the time being, you may not use the "Number entries in the menu automatically" option in the Player, or recommend another browser in viewing the course.
I hope this clarifies your concern. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks for sharing with everyone, Will!
I think that one thing you can do to mitigate this in the meantime is to make sure and start with the outline fully open, and then keep the menu as static as possible, e.g. make sure this is turned off:
Player > Menu > Menu Settings > Auto-collapse menu as the learner progressed.
The numbering will be correct when it is first displayed... it is only if something causes menu items to open or close that it goes haywire.
Thanks Will. We might use that suggestion, as we find the slide numbering very useful, especially in the review stage of a project, when people are requesting amends to particular slides.
Update: Based on this related bug-report, it looks like this will be fixed in Chrome v 69. Unfortunately it doesn't come out of beta until September though.
See https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=849107
Thanks Will for sharing that here. Our team also took a look at this, and did find the same Chromium bug. We're keeping an eye on it too - so hopefully they're able to release that sooner.
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to pop in and share an update.
The issue reported was a Chrome issue and is resolved in Chrome v69.
Menu numbering is incorrect in Chrome if "Number entries in the menu automatically" is enabled
Be sure to update your Chrome and let us know if you run into any other issues.
