menu with visual progress, progress saved to the LMS

May 14, 2013

Hi

I've had a quick look at the other forum posts but couldn't find an answer.

I have created a menu slide which links out to 5 scenes or topics. I can add a visited state/progress indicator using variables to show the completion status of each topic. This works fine in the same session when launched from an LMS. However when you exit, and then re-launch the course from the LMS I want the progress/completion status indicators for each scene/topic to show the correct completion status, rather than reverting to no progress/not started.

Is there a way to parse this data to the LMS along with the other SCORM data on exit and then back again to the course from the LMS on launch?

James,

If your LMS is SCORM compliant, Storyline variables are reinitialized to their last known values on resume using SCORM suspend_data.

What I do to diagnose problems like this is:  Add the variables directly on a slide to view their values.  Exit the course, login again, inspect the values visibly.

If the SCORM LMS is working properly, your SL variables will retain values on resume.
