Multiple Answers From One List On One Slide

Aug 01, 2018

Is there a way to score one drag and drop image on one slide with multiple parts and answers as individual responses?  I have a slide that has 26 answer boxes available, but unless ALL of them are filled out correctly I get a 0%.  I would like for the results to be out of 26 and not 1.  I'm new to Articulate and any and all help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi Luke,

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the attached project may be helpful. I created an intermediate slide that keeps the score based on a custom multiple choice question. This slide only lasts for  0.25 seconds so the users never see it but it allows SL to record the score.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Chris,

Thank you for taking the time to try and point me in the right direction with your answer.  I pulled over the story that you included and tried to apply it to what I was doing.  Because of my inexperience with the software I was not able to do so.  I have attached the project I am currently working on to offer some better insight as to what it is I am trying to accomplish.  Thank you.

Hi Luke,

I added a number variable (initial value of 0) named "DndScore."  I then added triggers to the first three drag items (you'll have to finish the rest) that add 1 to DndScore whenever a users drops them on the correct target.

Next, I added a Free Form Pick One question slide with 26 possible answers (radio buttons 1-26). I scored this question by answer choice and assigned each answer a different score (1-26). I added slide triggers that automatically select the answer choice based on the value of DndScore. Notice that this slide has all of the radio buttons off to the left of the slide and that the slide only lasts for 0.25 seconds. The users shouldn't even see this slide, but on the off chance that they do, they will simply see a blank white slide.

I removed the Submit button from this slide's properties (right click on base layer) and added a trigger that automatically submits the interaction. NOTE: the submit interaction slide trigger must allows be the last one in the list; so after add the other 23 triggers, you will have to move the submit trigger to the bottom.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Chris

THANK YOU Chris!

You have been a tremendous amount of help!  I do have one last question that I would like to see if you could help me with.  Once I submit and click continue after I am complete, the screen flashes and shows you what you got right and what was wrong.  This happens just before it shows the percentage and points you received.  It only lasts for about 1 second.  Is there anyway to make this slide be shown until you click next to see the percentages?  Thanks again!

OK, so the people have spoken.  They would like a few tweaks to the quiz, of course they do!  They want the result slide to show how many answers were correct after it shows the red highlights over the incorrect answers.  I've tried to make this happen, but just cant.  Any guidance in this area will be helpful.  Also since there are 26 answers but 37 possible answers, for some reason even if you get all 26 correct it will red-out the remaining answers left in the original box.  Is there a way to fix this at all?  Thank you in advance!
