Multiple quizzes and reporting responses to scorm

Nov 17, 2013

I have built a course in storyline which collects survey data from the user and also includes an assessment.

I am delivering the course with Articulate online.

Because I want to run a response report capturing both the survey responses and the assessment score, I have created a master results slide that reports on all questions (both survey and assessment).

The only issue I have now is that the score being passed back isn't right. When I score 100% in the assessment, I get a score reported of 109 (assuming that's given me a mark for each survey question  I have responded to), Is there any way I can configure either the assessment or the survey or the results slide so that it works out the percentage based on the assessment result?

Hi Tanya,

If you'd want to track each of the survey responses and be able to report on them, you'll need to have them all linked to the results slide. I haven't seen a survey response be given a score such as you've indicated though and I'm unable to replicate it on my own slides. Are you using the built in survey questions, or did you create your own using a graded question or freeform question type? If so, you can remove the points values from those individual questions. If you're using the built in survey questions, are you able to share your .story file here with us? If you'd prefer to share it privately, you can also send it to us here.

Hi Ashley.

I think you're right - its not the survey affecting the score. I've now managed to get the score reporting correctly to AO but the status still says incomplete  - even though the attempt is completed and passed so it should be complete. I have uploaded my storyfile here (I have removed the main content from the middle)

The result slide for the survey, and the master result slide are in a scene that is hidden. There are triggers at he end of the survey scene and the quiz to submit results for these slides - I think I must just have the set up wrong.

Note: I understand there is an issue with AO not recording status as complete when the browser isn't closed correctly but this is not the issue I am experiencing. The browser is always closed, the attempt and result are always recorded, just not the correct status.

Hi --

I'd be interested Tanya in seeing your summary results slide and how you built it to capture various assessment responses throughout the course.

Could you share a brief run-down on the process for me?

Thanks!

GREG

Hi Greg,

I insert a results slide and can set it to capture results for either selected questions (as shown in the image) or selected quizzes - using the drop down on this item.

This allows you to choose if you sum the total of all the quizzes or just require passing of all quizzes.

When you publish the course, you can set the quiz used to track completion - here, I select the master results slide rather than the other individual quizzes.
