I downloaded the Articulate Storyline 2 free trial, and my free trial period has already ended. I don't have money to upgrade right now, and my old version of storyline does not want to work anymore!!! Every time I try to open it, it forces me to install the Flash Player version 10 or higher for Internet Explorer. I have already installed it, cleared cache, re-started my computer, and nothing seems to let me open my old version of Storyline. This is not right... Is Articulate trying to force me to buy the Storyline 2 version???

the flash error message has been fixed for both versions of SL.
You need to download the latest SL1 update

You can view the information here, and download the latest Update for Storyline 1 here. Please note that any files that were edited or created in the Trial of Storyline 2 will not be accessible in Storyline 1 as it is not backwards compatible.
