Navigation appearing on Question Slide reviews - Custom Nav

Jul 01, 2017

Folks,

I'm hoping someone can offer some assistance. I'm using custom navigation and have removed all built in Next, Prev, Submit... I also have quiz questions dotted throughout course files and don't have my questions provided in a quiz format all at once. Thus I don't allow for Quiz Review per se. My custom navigation allows for free navigation after a slide has been complete. So someone can go back and see the "Resumed Saved State" of any question as they navigate backwards in a course.

The issue is that the Built-in Next and Back buttons are appearing when questions are viewed. My custom navigation also appears, as per normal, so I end up with 2 Next and 2 Prev, unprofessional looking. I have seen others with the same problem and questions on the forum dating back 4 years but I have seen no solutions or workarounds. Has an adequate workaround been found or is there a way to disable the built in navigation in its entirety?

Thanks,

Hi Cynthia!

When learners review a quiz (or revisit question slides they've already submitted), they'll see Articulate Storyline's built-in Prev and Next buttons in the lower right corner of the player—even if you've disabled them throughout your course. These navigation buttons are necessary for learners to review quiz slides.

If you'd like to have an option to disable the Prev and Next buttons during quiz review so you can use your own custom navigation buttons, please let us know. We value your feedback.

As far as the solution that Phil shared above, the modification of the published output is not something that we can help support, so hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in and help you out.
