New layer/button won't show up in preview.
Mar 20, 2014
I want to add an exit button to the final slide of a presentation. I want to put it on it's own layer so that I can easily publish with or without the button. I have figured out that I can just put the button on the base layer, and hide the object itself. However, I am still very frustrated that I cannot figure out what is going on when it is on it's own layer.
...
Ok scratch all that, I find that I have to put a trigger on the base layer to show the other layer when timeline starts. Am I missing something, or does a slide layer always have to be explicitly triggered somewhere/how?

Hi Charles,
A slide layer will need to be triggered from the base layer - and it could be a trigger as simple as what you mentioned to "show layer X when the timeline starts on hte base layer" so that it is always there. There is some additional information on working with slide layers in this tutorial.
