Yes, that's expected. The installer for Update 1 will uninstall the previous version (which deactivates the software) and then installs Update 1. Thus, the software has to be reactivated.
It didn't automatically appear for me, but luckily the Articulate support team was very quick at getting me a manual activation key. I'm all set now. Thanks guys!

When you click "activate" the serial number should automatically appear.
