Next button showing up too soon

Jun 09, 2015

I know I keep asking this every time I have a new SL project.  I try looking back, but it doesn't help.  Why is my next button showing up on my first slide?  I want it to be disabled until all my buttons have been visited.

Hi Kendra,
We took a look at your file and made some adjustments to it so that it would work as you described. Please take a look at this on the  slide for the triggers and adjustments made. I know that you’ve recently started using Storyline and staff and the community are ready to assist, but it may also be worthwhile to investigate the training options available here, especially as I believe we’ve talked about this same issue with the next button appearing after visited states in previous threads. The training would give you a good base going forward and then you could continue to reach out here for occasional assistance on specific issues. Also, the next buttons are on each slide, however you have them set to be disabled until the timeline ends.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist.

Hi Kendra,

I am unclear about what you are asking. The Next Button does not have a visited state. They can be set to Normal, Hidden, or Disabled. You can have these change when other buttons are Visited. Which is what you were asking for this file. Using the triggers/conditions I have set up in the above file will work as intended.

If you are trying to accomplish something else, please let me know.
