Notes / Closed Captioning / Side bar

May 16, 2013

I have been reading some great stuff about options for making your notes available for those who do not have speakers or are hearing impaired.  But I'd like to know where the nice little icon went that I always used in Articulate.  My learners used to be able to turn the sidebar off and on at will so the notes would not interfere with the slides themselves.  Why is it not that way in Storyline?  Looks like there is really no "easy" way to show notes (at the learners whim) that doesn't cover the slide.

I would really like to have the ability for my learners to turn the sidebar on and off like in Articulate.

But LOVIN' Storyline otherwise.

It looks like the icon that was in Presenter '09 to show notes at the bottom of the page is not present in Presenter '13.  I have the same issue that Fran had working with Storyline.  I need a way to present the notes, without the side bar present, in a way that doesn't cover the screen content for a course created in Presenter '09 but updated to Presenter '13.  Can you help me figure this out?

Hi Joyce! The solutions above and this thread is for Storyline.  You do not have to have the side bar present as you can place the Notes in the Topbar on the left or right. This will cause the information to 'pop-up' though and will likely block your content. The notes at the bottom is not a feature in Presenter '13 and if this is something you would like, you will need to submit that as a feature request. I hope that any community members that have a solution that could help you will chime in.
