We just upgraded to 3.7.20003.0. For some reason every time someone tries to open an attachment (placed in the player as a Reference), the document is trying to open in the browser (in this case, Edge) instead of as an Adobe PDF. I have Acrobat Pro (latest version) on my PC, so that is not the cause. Can someone please suggest a cause and possible solution? Thanks much for your help!
Hello, I see you are in Articulate 3. I tested this with the same version and it seemed to work for for me.
Are you publishing for HTML5, Flash?
Are you running this on a web server, in an LMS?
I tested on a server and with LMS, see attached image in LMS using Edge. It opens a separate window in Edge, if you close the PDF, the course stays open. Maybe I am not following what you are doing, happy to help if you can provide more details.
Hey Jeff. HTML5 in an LMS (Cornerstone). When we published to HTML5/Flash Fallback in our previous LMS it worked fine. Unfortunately both of those changes happened simultaneously - the new publishing requirement and the new LMS - so we don't know the culprit. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the details. I did test with the same version of SL, to HTML5 only and in Edge, just for comparison. The LMS I tested in was scormcloud.com, a good test bed if you have not used it before. Perhaps it is something Cornerstone is controlling? I have tested on Cornerstone before, maybe it is not allowing the PDF to open it its own window? See my test files attached. I would be curious to see how your file tests out in scormcloud.
