Hi there. I created a photo gallery in Storyline that I thought others may be interested in. You can download the source file, see a live demo and a couple of screenrs about how it works using the links below.
Ok folks. I'm trying to mimic this type of interaction (specifically the Gallery 2 where you drag to the light box). Where I'm running into trouble is that the dropped object is snapping to the center of my drop target, but I want the drop to be free. I don't think I have snapping set anywhere, but I'm pretty early in the learning process, so I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.
Hi Kristin, you almost have it. All you have to do is click the edit drag and drop button andmake sure the "Snap dropped Items to drop target" check box is selected.
Whoops. Didn't mean to do that previous post as an attachment- Sorry!!! Also, it seems to work ok if I put the when to "object dragged over" ...but then of course the state changes before the object is dropped.
I know I'm late on the jump with this one, but I still had to chime in.
Stephanie, you know I'm a huge fan of your work. You continue to inspire me with every post/demo/screenr that you share. Your generosity makes a difference. Thank you!
This is absolutely fantastic! As a newbie to Storyline and eLearning design for that matter, I thank you for sharing. It helps me continue to expand the realm of possibilities. And makes me just a little giddy
I favorited this because I KNEW a time would come that I would want to dive in and figure out the details of how you put this awesome piece together. Do you have any tutorials that get into the specifics at all? Right now I'm especially interested in how you managed the drop target. When I go into Edit the Drag and Drop, it doesn't have a drop target listed. Is there another way to assign one?
I learned so much from this. As always, thank you for sharing. You help make us all better designers

Stephanie- What font did you use? It's lovely.
Hi Kristin. Do you mean the script font? There were two used; Ben's Handwriting and Greg's Hand.
Stephanie
Must be the Greg's hand that caught my eye! Thanks
Love, love, love it!!! You are brilliant, Stephanie! Thanks for sharing!

Help me out???
Hi Kristin,
First suggestion would be to check out these settings.
Hope this helps.

Even if I select that option and set it to free, it still snaps to the center.
It appears to have something to do with the state change. If I remove the state change, it works just fine. :-/

Nice job! Very inspiring. I think I'll integrate it in my game, to immerge the player a bit more.
SUPERB!!!!
Thank you Stephanie! I had missed such a masterpiece of yours! Excellent work!!
Great work Stephanie. What font did you use on the photos?
Hi Robin. That would be Greg's Hand - a free font.
Wonderful design and tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing!
