Playing videos in Chrome asks user to download video as a file

Hi all,  I have created a module which includes quite a large video inside.  This was imported into Storyline and then I published out as a SCORM 1.2. This has then been added into Adobe Connect (lms side).

We have found that a user in IE can view the 'module/video' fine and the video plays within the module ok.  However, when using Chrome it keeps asking them to 'download the video' as a file - i.e. as if the video is seen as just a 'file'.

Has anyone experienced this before?  Thank you!

I'm happy to help! The last post in this discussion was from 5 years ago, and luckily browsers have had many updates over the past 5 years, so let's start from the beginning!

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to start with:

  • Have you tried viewing the video in Chome?
  • Have you tried viewing the course outside of the LMS? For example, publishing the course for Web or Review 360.
  • Are the videos imported from your computer or embedded from a website?

Once we gather these details, we should be able to offer a solution.
