Any help with my challenge appreciated. I am evaluating Articulate 360 to decide if I want to use it or just stick with Storyline. When I try to import a PPT file, it dies before the import is complete. I believe this must be easy to fix since it is the same with multiple tools. Attached a screen capture of the error message.
For Storyline, have you tried checking this article for common causes of failed to import powerpoint presentation? I've also read in one of the posts here that "exception" error are commonly encountered when user is not working with local project files or files that the name includes special characters. Hope this helps.
I see that you've contacted our Support Engineers and found that one slide was causing the error!
In case someone else comes across a similar error, here's troubleshooting steps to get you started:
First, please make sure that you're working with a local project file when you modify or publish your project. If you're working on a network drive, or any other external storage, that might be causing the trouble.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
It looks like one of your projects is on your C: drive, but make sure that both the PowerPoint and Storyline project is there.
