Presentations not working on Mac OS

Jun 06, 2017

Hi everyone. Many of our users trying to view our presentations on our Moodle LMS are unable to do so. I reviewed the support page that says Firefox on Mac isn't supported but our users have tried both Chrome and Safari with the same results. They have updated Flash and still haven't been able to access the SCORM. I've attached a screenshot sent by one of our users showing the problem.

The SCORM that aren't working were created by various ISDs around the agency, some were built in SL1 and some were built in SL2, some use the default player and others use custom players.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is Storyline not supported on Mac at all anymore? We have been using these SCORM for years and have only encountered this problem within the past couple months. We have a lot of users who are all using their personal machines for mandatory training so we really need a solution for this. Thanks!

Sorry your users are running into this, Ashley! We definitely wouldn't expect an issue on a Mac as long as they're using Safari 7 and later or the latest version of Google Chrome.

Have you done any testing in SCORM Cloud yet?  If so, are you getting the same results? We generally compare the behavior in SCORM Cloud to your LMS experience to try to parse out file issues versus LMS issues.  We are happy to help you with that testing if you'd like to share one of the files that's giving you trouble!
