Problems with import

I imported a powerpoint file and storyline is showing a highlighted rectangular box on every imported screen (see attached screenshot towards the bottom). I checked the original powerpoint and there are no boxes in the original powerpoint, and there are no boxes in the master slide. I cannot select the box in storyline to delete it. Any thoughts on where this box is coming from and/or how to get rid of it?

Also, when I publish from storyline the highlighted box shown in the previous post disappears, but I get a partial highlighted box around the image on the slide (see attached). Maybe the two issues are related somehow.
I fixed the first problem of the import. I found in the storyline slide master (I was looking the powerpoint slide master) the box had been added during the import. I still have that border around the image during publishing. I've checked Shape Fill, Shape Outline, and Shape Effects and they are all set to none.
Found a solution to problem #2 as well. I did a slide Reset and the border went away.
That's a lousy solution since I have over 1,000 slides in many presentations that I was planning using in storyline. I'd rather not have to go through and reset every slide to fix import issues.
