I was just wondering whether others have used the export/import translation file feature? The text changes where implemented without problems on import. However, I also noticed that some elements randomly disappeared, for example, one of the answers in a quiz question, or the content of a text box (while the emply text box was still in place).
Also, as a general rule, you'll want to follow these guidelines:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols (these include spaces and underscores) in your file names.
Can you tell us a little more about your workflow, in case that could be the cause of some of the trouble?
Thanks for your reply. I am guilty of having spaces in my file name but comply with everything else you listed.
I marked the spots for my subject matter expert with "Please add your text here." on the Notes tab, exported the translation file. The sme added his text and I then imported the file he sent me. The translation file also contained spaces. Could that have caused the strange behaviour, i.e. removing certain elements from my project?

Hi Kerstin,
First, please make sure that you have the most recent version of Storyline installed - Update 3.

Hi Kerstin,
It's possible that the file changing hands caused some issues, but it's difficult to tell.
If you haven't already, you might want to try renaming the course and removing those spaces - just to be safe :)
If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a look at what's happening with the file. You're welcome to send it over to us at any time.
Thanks Kerstin!
