Problems with step by step inserted videos

Hello - please help!
1. I recorded video screenshots via storyline.
2. Inserted one by one into different slides and/or scenes.
3. When inserting as video, to just watch = previews fine.
4. When insert as STEP by STEP view, try or test....and follow all instructions; see mouse, highlight clicks etc etc and try to preview = nothing. No movement, just shows one static slide.
This is to teach how to use software, so i need to use the various steps in the program.
I have been trying to do this for a long time, searched blogs and forums everywhere and all tutorials. Now this has become a very urgent matter.

oh sorry - sometimes = one static image and other times shows the video, just the same as video on a single slide.
