Project File Could Not Be Saved. Your System Appears to Be Low on Memory

Jul 11, 2018

Task Manager shows the computer is not low on memory. Work locally on computer, not across network. Save As works, but Save does not ... shows the attached error instead.

Hey there Matt,

Really sorry you ran into that error message. First I'll help you free up some memory, and then we'll check your Storyline version to prevent this from happening again.

To free up some memory, you can delete your temporary files. Go to C: > Users > User > AppData > Roaming > Articulate > Storyline. There you might see some files labeled TMP files. It's safe to delete any of those files that are not related to a project you're currently working on.

Now, let's double check that you're not on an outdated version of Storyline 360. We had a memory leak in a previous version, but we've since released a fix for that issue.

Are you on the latest update of Storyline 360? To check, click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see 3.17.16188.0 in the bottom-right corner.

That does seem to allow the file to save. Though not clear how that TMP file space comes into play. I already had 121 GB free before removing the 6 GB of TMP files.
