Publish Settings not Saving
Mar 14, 2018
Hi, I'm having a problem with a lesson that won't mark as complete on our LMS. I think I've identified the issue after comparing against other lessons.
In the Publishing options - Reporting and Tracking - LMS Lesson SCORM Information field, I inserted my title (User Management/Permissions see attached screenshot), I then inserted the same title in the Identifier field. However, after I save the file and go back into this Options box, the Identifier resets back to the old value?
Do you have any idea of why this might be happening?
thanks!
Pat

Welcome to the community, Patrick! Thanks so much for reaching out to us about this.
We're seeing the same problem you're seeing, and our team is looking into a fix as we speak. I'll tag this thread to be updated as soon as the fix is released!
Im having a similar issue where the report status to LMS keeps changing to complete/incomplete. I have been trying to report as passed/incomplete, it seems fine, I press publish, but whenever I check it after publishing, it has reverted back to complete/incomplete.
Hey, Wyn. Thanks for specifying. I noticed that in each new project I opened, the reporting status defaulted to what I attempted to select in the previous project. We're investigating this issue now, and we'll keep you posted!
Hi - getting the same problem , Identifier and LMS Reporting not being saved in the state you set them at, after you select 'OK' at the publish stage.
Hi Martin,
Thanks for reaching out here. This is an issue we've reported to our team recently, but I'll keep you posted here once we have any additional information.
I'm sorry it's causing you trouble, but we'll let you know as soon as we can.
I had the same issue today when I tried to publish a SCORM 1.2 course and it keep reverting back to SCORM 2004. Any update on this would be appreciated. I have a course to launch next week and cannot get this past our testing phase.
Hi Robert,
We'll let you know here as soon as we can.
In the meantime, it should be publishing with the correct format. You'll see the older format if you were to reopen the .story file again.
Let us know if it's not publishing correctly, as that could be something else entirely!
We have tried several versions of our publish setting and it still wont provide the correct completion status in the LMS. Ours course is a page only completion (no scored test) We have always used SCORM 1.2 as the wrapper and then choosed Complete/Incomplete for our reporting output and we would get the correct (passing) outcome in the LMS. After trying several other options with SCORM 2004 we are still not getting it to pass with a completion in our LMS.
Also, I have never had it show the "older" format in the past, always the one you chose when you published it...Not sure why that is different.
Hi Robert,
The bug we're investigating only affects the publish settings not saving in Storyline, so I wouldn't expect it to affect your published output file.
You mentioned that you published with SCORM 2004, and while testing the output, you never see a Complete status after completing the course.
Does the same problem happen when you test the output in SCORM Cloud? Let me know if you would like some help with that!
Hi Alyssa,
I am just following up on this as this last post was two months ago. I don't think this has been resolved yet, correct? Please advise.
Thank you!
According to Storyline it has been resolved. I will be publishing a new one soon, so I will be able to see if all is working properly in our LMS.

I will let you know. I should be publishing tomorrow.
Hi all,
We released a fix for the issue where, when publishing an LMS course, changes made to the reporting options (identifier, reporting status, etc.) weren’t always saved. This fix was released with Update 15, so you shouldn't see this issue any longer!
I just uploaded to our LMS and the settings are still showing, but I realized I have not updated my Version of Storyline 360 to V15 yet.
Ah, good catch Robert!
If you need any more help with this, give me a shout.
