Publishing - CD

Would appreciate some assistance as a newbie in Storyline.
I produce storyline files as a CD for other trainers to run the files on their laptops as part of their sessions however when they try to run the files they do not work. It appears to be an issue with them not having storyline installed. I can run them and they work perfectly.
I thought that the CD format would mean all the relevant files would be in the published folder and they would just run if they copied the folder.
Can anyone give me some advice of how to rectify this issue?

Hi Sheryl
that's how it should work...if you look in the published folder there should be a file called Launch_Story.exe. There’s also an autorun file, which should cause your presentation to launch automatically if learners insert a CD or DVD containing your published output.
I know from some previous threads there were issues with autorun on systems running Windows 8 - not sure is that has been rectified.
Hi Wendy
Thank you for your quick response.
The trainers I work with do not have CDs in their laptops. From the publishing options I thought CD format would allow them to copy the folder and run the files but as I said it hasn't worked. I have run it on my machine from the launch exe and from the HTML doc successfully. These files are to augment their application training sessions and aren't eLearning in the normal sense. Can you suggest anything to get me around this?
Hi Sheryl
do you have a webserver you could load the publish files to and then send the trainers a link to the story.html file...that should allow them access.
Hi Wendy
I have someone technical at work who can assist us with this. I will get them to try it tomorrow and will come back to you to advise the outcome.
Thanks for your assistance.
kind regards
Sheryl
