Punjabi fonts, anyone?
Hi
I'm building an online virtual tour to help parents to understand what happens when they bring their child into our Children's hospital for surgery - who they will meet, where they will wait, what they can bring etc.
Vancouver is a pretty multicultural city, and we're creating versions in English, Chinese (simplified and traditional character sets), Vietnamese and Punjabi.
The latter is causing me problems in Storyline - for the other languages, I can simply cut and paste from our translation documents and build the pages as usual, and for the downloadable resources I can also paste the name of the resource in the relevant script. Except for Punjabi - when I try and paste a Punjabi resource name into Storyline, it won't recognise the font, and I just see junk characters.
So my question to the Storyline community - has anyone successfully used Punjabi in a slide page and in the names of resources, and if so, which fonts will work?
Here's a sample of the text I'm working with: ਸਵਾਲ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ

Hi Andy, I am out of Burnaby. I am looking into doing this now as well. How you resolved this issue?
Thanks,

Hi Jürgen, thank you for doing that. I do not speak or can read Punjabi. I am just working on a translation of a course into that language. Based on a few articles I read, a Punjabi font (Raavi) can be used while designing but won't work when published. See the article below from 2021. that is why I am asking if Punjabi (Gurmukhi script) is finally supported. Do you know?

I have checked some text with "Noto Sans Gurmukhi" (used on the BBC website)

there is a difference - i don't know if this is important, i don't speak the language either

Thank you for looking into this.
I do not speak the language either but two native speakers say the text is not displayed correctly. That confirms that Articulate storyline 360 does not support Punjabi (Gurmukhi script).

It is May 2024 and Articulate Storyline still does not support Punjabi. We have no choice but to screenshot Punjabi text in Microsoft products (Word, PPT, etc) and paste it on an AS360.
