Question about Storyline, Javascript, and a LMS

Jun 02, 2016

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a course where I've imported a flash object (captivate simulation) into a course.  I'm using a bit of javascript to change the state of the next button from a state of disabled to enabled at the end of the captivate simulation.  It works on the web, but does not work in our Saba LMS.  Any ideas of why?  Is this a Flash limitation or an LMS limitation?

I used this article to create my javascript:

https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/web-object-how-to-advance

I did publish the Captivate simulation as HTML5 and it works, so I'm a bit confused why the flash version doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Are you able to share a copy of it here so that others in the community can take a look, as Javascript elements are not something that Articulate staff can assist with. Also, you could look at testing this outside of Saba to see if it's an issue with the LMS or the Javascript - you could use this article to look at testing the content in SCORM Cloud.

Hi, Michael -- Thanks so much for reaching out and sorry to hear of your difficulties! First, I should mention that we are not able to provide support for JavaScript, but there are many here in the community who are very knowledgeable with JS, so you may want to upload your file so they can take a closer look.

Also, as you mentioned that it is not working in your LMS, may I ask if you are finding the same when testing in the SCORM Cloud, as it is the recommended environment for testing courses published for LMS?
