Quiz questions, review, and Player Features problem

Oct 07, 2014

Hello all,

I seem to have a problem when using anything other than the default Player Features under the Slide Properties for quiz questions. If I keep them at default then the Next and Previous buttons show up during quiz review as expected. If I choose Custom for the Selected Slides then only the Submit button appears when reviewing the quiz.

Has anyone else had this happen or can anyone replicate this?

Thanks very much in advance. I'm sure I'm just missing something.

Thanks Issa for sharing your file. I didn't experience the behavior you showed in your previous image. I was able to take a few of the questions and use the submit button to advance and if I answered incorrectly I was brought back to the slide to modify my answers and then proceed again using the submit button. When I finished the quiz and got to the Review I was able to go back and still see how the questions were answered and have the bottom incorrect/correct bar. That's when the next/previous buttons appeared to allow me to continue to advance throughout the course.

Are you using the latest update of Storyline 2 Update 11? You can confirm this by going to the Help tab and clicking on About Articulate Storyline. You'll see the update number listed there. Also if you're able to consistently replicate this behavior do you see it on a particular question slide? Only in preview or publish? When you're taking the quiz for the first time or as a part of the Review? Any other details you can share here will help us in testing it.

Hi Ashley,

Having checked I am using the latest update. I am seeing this on three different learners on our LMS. The slides seem to be question number 6, 20, 25. The problem doesn't come up when previewing only the published version on our LMS. We have changed the quiz questions for this module and uploaded onto the same ID where the previous learners were accessing from. Would that have caused an issue? It is only part of the Review that problem appears.

Kind Regards

Issa

Thanks Issa for that - I tested it out and limited it down to just a few of those slides to test it out. I uploaded it here to SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing LMS content and I wasn't able to replicate the behavior - but let me know if you see the same thing. If you'd like to upload and test the whole course there that'll also be good at determining if the issue is those specific slides or something on the users' environment and you could share that link with them to test as well. This article is a good walk through of LMS testing steps.
