Quiz scores changing on their own on review in Storyline

Oct 30, 2012

Evening! We've got an odd Storyline behavior here, I'm hoping someone can help me dig into.

We build a course, put it on our LMS, someone takes it, completes it, closes the course, opens it back up to go into Review Mode... and when reviewing, the score changes. In our case, An 87 can drop to a 77. It definitely submits this new lower score to the LMS.

Worse, the issue seems to be inconsistent...on courses that should be configured identical, we can't predict if it will or won't happen. One user runs a course and it behaves itself (even when reopened), then another user runs the same course and it might misbehave and drop their score if they relaunch to review.

Frustrating, no? Any insight on to what might be going on here is supremely welcome.

Hey Brett,

Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know...

Thanks!

I managed to replicate the behavior in Scorm Cloud, check this out.

I ran the course once, completed it, and got a 73.17%. Full log below:

Then, I reopened the course (without resetting progress, trying to take it again, or do anything else), and the review slide listed my score as a mere 24.39% suddenly. And it submitted that score:

Really, really weird. I'm going to submit these same findings to the support form. Thanks for looking into this one!
