Recording Screen Content

Jun 30, 2014

I have just installed Storyline on my PC. However when I save my screen recording,  the program crashes. Even clicking the DONE button without any recording crashed the program. I have checked and it appears I have all the latest updates.

I have a DELL Latutude e6440 running windows 7.  My version of Storyline is Update 5: 1401.2415

Has anyone had a similar issue , any help would be appreciated

Hi Michael and welcome to Heroes!

I'm sorry to hear about the odd behavior you've encounter and hope that we'll be able to quickly remedy it!

First, I'd want to have you check that you meet the system requirements here for operating Storyline.

Next, please check that you've installed Storyline as an administrator and then activated it as the end user.

You'll also want to confirm that you're following these general guidelines for working with Storyline:

Lastly, something may have occurred during the installation - and you may want to conduct the repair of Storyline.

Hi Ashley

Thanks for your response.

I have checked your suggestions and seem to meet them all. I can publish files to a non network drive and all seems fine.

However when saving a screen recording, StoryLine Crashes.

The error happens when I use the record screen function and save what I have captured. Where is it trying to save this information.

If its a known issues which cant be easily resolved I will need to find another software solution.

I have attahed an image for reference.

Hi Michael,

In addition to publishing to a local drive, is your .story file being created on a local drive and saved to such? The screen recording is trying to save as a part of the .story file to your local temp folder or your My Articulate Projects folder. If you've confirmed everything is being saved to a local drive I'd suggest as a next step to conduct the repair of Storyline detailed here.
