I am trying to create a 5 second screen recording in Storyline and as soon as I press done the whole course shuts down and I lose any unsaved work. I am unable to create a recording within a course and I even tried to just create the recording separate of my course within an empty Storyline file to save and copy over but the same thing happened. Any ideas on how to successfully record screen activity without using a separate program?
Since Storyline is behaving oddly, I'd suggest checking the following things first:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

I'd also conduct a repair of Storyline and the supporting Windows software.
Let us know if you're still experiencing the issue after following these steps.
Use a separate program. The one I like is My Screen Recorder. It produces small size files that are crystal clear.
Hi John and welcome to Heroes!
