Reducing length slide in ST3

Hi,
When translating stories to another language, we are often confronted with longer or shorter slide lengths. Manually dragging them to reduce slide length takes a long time.
I recently stumbled upon this quickwin, but don't seem to be able to get the result. Pushing the cursor doesn't do anything.
Any thoughts on ideas how to 'snap' the end of the slide to the longest element?

Point to the end of the timeline, Click and HOLD the mouse button, and as you are moving it to the left, press the left arrow.
Hi Walt, thanks for the reply. Have tried it. It works, but snaps to half of the length of he slide. It doens't go to the shortest element; as I want it to.
Hi Jan,
Thanks for popping back in to share what you are seeing. The timeline should snap to the length of the longest element as you first mentioned. Is that what you're experiencing?
None of the mentioned items help. Doesn't work. Huge waste of time with no snap back function.
Hello Dan!
It sounds like the timeline isn't snapping back to the length of the longest element on the timeline. Is that correct?
If so, can you share which version of Storyline 3 that you're using?
