Hi. I wanted to see if there is anything we can do to have the storyline projects report back to our LMS with more detail? Currently, it only reports if someone opens or closes the training. Can it report the slide they left off on? Anything additional?
Hi, Lora -- Thanks so much for reaching out! First, could you possibly share the name of the LMS you use, so that others who use the same service may be able to share additional information? And can you expand a bit more on what type of information you are hoping to gather?
We are using Scorm Cloud. We need to see more detail. For example we had a user who stated that they completed the course and passed it but all of the detail we have is he was logged into the course for a day and he is bookmarked back to the first page. We have our trainings set to passed/incomplete. Others are completing, including this course. I guess we just need more detail to troubleshot when there is an issue. Does that help answer your question?
Hi, Lora -- Thanks for your reply! May I ask if you have had a chance to take a look through this article on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud? And may I ask if you have tested the course on your end to see if you register the same results? After completion of the course, upon exit, learners should be seeing this window if the course is completed successfully:
If some or all learners are not receiving this message and your course is set to passed/incomplete, you may want to reach out to SCORM Cloud directly for additional insights on where the disconnect may be taking place.
Hi Christie, We looked at the article and we handled all of those parts. We are just looking to see if there is a way to report back to the LMS when a slide is completed. This way we know where a user left off, in case the bookmark is not working. We have very little detail of what is going on when someone takes the course and no way to troubleshoot the course if a user has issues.
Hi, Lora -- Thanks for your reply! And while I am not aware of a method to track where a user may have left off at a random point in the course, here is an option for How to Submit Course Completion to an LMS on a Specific Slide. If that is not going to work for your purposes, I would recommend that you reach out to SCORM Cloud Support to see if they may be able to make more specific recommendations to accomplish what you have in mind.
Hey Christie, We spoke with SCORM Cloud and they replied, "you can likely use objectives to report the status of a set of slides once they are completed"
Which sounds like it would work perfectly for us.
Can you 1. Confirm story line supports objectives and 2. Provide any information on implementing objectives.
My research on objectives in story line only shows creating 'objective slides' to display the objectives of a course, which is not what we are interested in.
Thanks for providing that update. The objective item is not something that Articulate currently uses per the documentation here on the quiz data we'll send to your LMS. It looks like some folks discussed ways to change it in this thread, but it's worth noting that it's not something supported.

The other way to go with SCORM Cloud is to publish to Tin Can. If you load and launch Tin Can content you'll get a report of each slide experienced.
