Reporting problems in Storyline 2 using Firefox and Cellphones
May 20, 2016
Hello everyone,
I created my first course with Storyline 2 and published in my LMS which is Saba Enterprise 5.5
It works fine if you do it in the computer with Explorer or Chrome. But the reporting doesn't work well with Firefox in the computer or Cellphone in any browser. I responded correctly all the answers in the final Quiz and it always show 10% of correct answers (50% required), so it reports Failure.
I tried to find a solution in previous posts but nothing seems to work.
Attached are captures of the publishing configurations, the results in SCORM Cloud (done in Firefox with the computer) and the screenshot that I get in the results page. Also a replica of the Quiz with the correct answer indicated in case you want to try it.
(Sorry, I'm not a native English Speaker)
Thanks.
Thais

Hi - it works OK for me in Scorm Cloud using Firefox. I didn't make any changes. Screen shot attached.
I also tried Chrome and also both the Flash and HTML5 versions of the quiz and they all worked as expected.
Thanks Steve!
I found out that it is not working in Firefox in the computer because we have restricted access in our company. But have you tried to run the content in a cellphone? Because I'm still trying to fix that.
Thais
I haven't sorry. I'm unable to run Storyline content on my cell phone.
Hi Thais,
When viewing the output on a mobile device you'll want to ensure that you're using one of the supported browsers here:
Thanks Ashley.
I have the latest version of Chrome in my phone and still always reports Failure. Also I have lollipop android 5.1.1
I don't know what else I can check in my phone in order to be able to fix the reporting problem.
Other students are having the same problem :(
Hi Thais,
Thanks for sharing your Android version and checking that you're using the latest browser of Chrome as well. I think next we'd want to take a look at doing some testing on your file as well, as I don't see that Steve was able to test in the Android environment but just the Firefox on desktop. I wasn't able to find an email address for you in our system based on your name here, but if you'd like to upload a copy of your .story file and an answer key for your quiz here that will go along to our Support Engineers who can take a look at testing this behavior in a few different environments.
Hello Ashley,
I uploaded the .story in my first post (well, only the quiz). The correct Answer is indicated in each question. The configuration of the course and the quzz it's the same as the original puplished (I did a light version). Do you need something else?
Thanks.
Thais
Hi Thais,
I see now that the questions were set to automatically show the answers, so I'll use that as the answer key and take a look at how this behaves on my other devices. I'll be back in touch once I've been able to test it.
Thanks Thais - I tested it in my Chrome browser on desktop, and my iPad using Mobile Safari and both worked normally. I also had two colleagues who tested it on their Android devices and those worked normally for them as well by scoring a 100% and I included a screenshot here:
Can you take a look at testing it here.
Hello Ashley,
Thanks for all the testing! I guess you changed something about the configuration of the .story because the file of your link to SCORM Cloud reports perfectly in my phone and any device and browser, but the one that I uploaded doesn't. Please let me know if you did some changes or send me .story file that you used for publishing it.
Thanks for everything guys! I really appreciate the time you took to look at my content.
Thais
Hi Thais,
I wish I could tell you I did something magic here - but I didn't change anything. I just opened your file, published to my local C: drive and then used the "zip" button on the publish successful window. Once I did that, I uploaded it to my SCORM Cloud account and sent it around for testing.
Is it just this one file that you're having difficulty with? Are you on the latest update of Storyline 2 Update 9? If you are and publishing on your end is still having odd behavior I'd ask for you to go through the repair next as detailed here.
Thanks Ashley! You solved it. With the latest update the problem is now fixed. I didn't get any notification in my email about the updates and I have the software registered, so I guess I wil have to check in the furute to keep it updated.
Thank you for your time :)
Hi Thais,
We don't send out an email in regards to updates, but you could double check that Storyline is set to check for updates when you're connected to the internet as detailed here.
I found out that the security system of the company is blocking the update notifications.
I think we can close the discussion.
Thank you Ashley, you did a really god job.
Sounds good Thais - and glad I could help!
