Reporting Text SCORM Data with Drag & Drop Slides?

Dec 10, 2013

Howdy Community,

My organization performs quartlerly knowledge assessments and we do so through quizzes. We then report overall organizational "knowledge" achievement based off assessment answers. We drill down results based upon answers to each question. We recently switched to using Articulate Storyline and I spruced up the boring text based assessment of yore with interactive quiz questions. Unfortunately, and to my chagrin, Drag and Drop question slides do not report through the TEXT of the question associated with my Drag and Drop slides. For example, I'll do a "Which of the following X = Y" whereas Y is the drop zone and X is one of 4 - 6 drag objects. In my LMS Question Analysis (QA), the question reports back as DRAG AND DROP, and the "Which of the Following..." does not show in the QA. This makes reporting back staff successful answers to specific questions difficult, because we have to discern which Drag and Drop question we are looking at... The real problem is now that our users have experienced the interactive magnificience of Articulate Storyline, they want more. However, the reports people and chief level folks don't care so much about the learner having fun as much as they do being able to analyze results. So my question, Is there a way in Articulate Storyline to have the text box of a Drag and Drop Slide report out SCORM "Text" data (not just slide type). I want to satisfy the end user (learner) and big whigs, and I'm sure hoping somebody out the in eHero land can help! THanks in advance...

Hi Mat,

The data that Storyline sends to your LMS is detailed here , and I assume your using Storyline update 4 (which is the most recent update) as there was a fix in update 3 regarding question text not being reported to an LMS.

Another (more involved) option, would be to not track the drag and drop question, but use the drag and drop to adjust variables (holding the user's answer), that can then be reported back to your LMS using this method.
