Hello,, dave, I think it possible to achieve this goal. You can build a layer with everything keeping initial state, and set a button trigger to show this layer. Hope it may help.
Not entirely sure what you're looking for, but I posted a story in this thread on Drag and Drop attempts, and there's more discussion here that also may be informative to you, that "resets" the drag and drop via the Try Again button.

Rebecca have you seen something like this for multiple choice? where it highlights the correct and incorrect answers?
I'm sorry, I'm not understanding what you mean by highlights the correct and incorrect answers. Do you mean the checkmarks and red xes that appear when the items are dragged? Those are created by editing the Drop correct and Drop incorrect states in a drag and drop (see screenshot). Are you wanting to create something like that for a MC?
Hi Rebecca, yes I am referring to the checkmark's and red x's ... all I want to do is basically do the exact same thing as you have done with the drag and drop but apply it to a multiple choice question
Hadn't thought about that one before! I'm attaching a story I put tog. and tested really quickly. So I think it's good to go, but be sure to let me know.
Also, please let me know if you'd like accompanying instructions. Happy to provide them - but no can do at this particular moment.
Thank you so much for all your help Rebecca, i managed to come up with a hybrid solution using some of your ideas and a whole lot of hiding and showing objects.

My pleasure. Now I'm curious to know what you were after and what it looks like. Can you share?
Hi Rebecca, tight deadline ... I will try and strip it down and post an example over the next few days.
