"Reset to Initial State" Doesn't
Sep 17, 2015
Hello,
I have my navigation set to Restricted and the Next button set to Disabled until 2 buttons are Visited. In addition I have the slide settings set to "Reset to Initial State" when revisiting. These settings require both buttons to be clicked AND the slide to complete before the Next button is enabled and works.
Everything works fine when I first view the slide but if I hit the Previous button on the following slide to revisit the slide in question I am able to click the Next button after clicking the two buttons - BUT I do NOT have to wait for the slide duration to end (narration) before using the Next button to proceed. Why, and how can I have this slide reset to it's initial state regardless of how many times the user has viewed it?
Thanks.

All is in order. The first slide is blank and part of one scene. Just scroll to the lower right and you'll see then nav buttons.
On the graph screens you can pick a point on the graph. Be sure to get at least one answer wrong so it circles back to the first slide.
Sorry for the trouble.
Hi, Steve -- Thanks so much for the clarification and sorry to have misunderstood! I went through your course and experienced the behavior you have described where I was unable to make any selections on the 1st graph when revisiting. I also confirmed that your slides are all correctly marked to 'Reset to Initial" state, so I am also unsure as to why this behavior is occurring.
I think at this time, it would be best for our Engineers to weigh in. As I mentioned, I'd be happy to create a ticket for you, but I do not have a way to search for your contact info in our system. So, in order to investigate this further, please use this form to create a case ticket. Your patience is appreciated, and I plan to follow along with their progress! :)
Hi, Steve -- I just wanted to touch base with you to see if you went ahead and submitted a Support Ticket. If you could share the case number, I would like to take a look so that I may be able to share relevant updates here in the thread for others who may benefit. :)
Seems an Articulate rewrite of "revisiting a slide" is required.
Hi, Jim! Many thanks for your input, and any ideas or suggestions you would like to share with our Product team are welcomed! Please use this form to pass along your thoughts. :)
In my case, adding a "reset results" trigger to the "retry" button that sends the user back a few slides cleared this problem. Thanks to support for pointing that out.
That is excellent information, Steve, and the solution discovered may certainly assist others in the future, so we really appreciate the update. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reply via email in your case (for tracking purposes) and we'll see what more we can do! :)
