Resources not opening

Hi,
Sorry in advance if this has been asked before, I have had a look through the forums but couldn't find anything.
Here goes... I have a project that worked about a year ago, but I'm having trouble with some resources not opening.
- I've linked to them using story_content/external_files/FileName.pdf
- I've set up the story_content/external_files/ folder in the output files
- The file will not open
- I'm not using the Player
- The project is being launched from an LMS

I think the file needs to be in your "Resources" tab. It looks to me that you are trying to open up a file on your computer.
Thanks for your reply but I'm not using the Player Cary- so I don't have a Resources tab.
I'm using a button to open the resource using the trigger as shown above, and it was working... I'm not sure if an upgrade to Articulate has made any difference, but that's slutching at straws, I'm sure its something simple. Its just alluding me! :-(
Where is the file stored that you are linking to? Is it on the LMS or is it on your computer? The file needs to be on a server.
The image above shows the files on the LMS. There is a folder under story_content called external_files and the PDF is in there.
The button points to that location which is relative; as long as it is in that pathway, it doesn't matter about the parent pathway. Well it shouldn't...
Hi Kim,
You said the image above showed the files on the LMS, but that looks like the published output folder. Are you testing this set up from within your LMS after uploading? File links or hyperlinks may not work as expected when testing the published content locally.
If you're in need of a testing platform, you may want to use SCORM Cloud, which is a free industry standard for testing SCORM content.
