Results slide for drag & drop

Jan 07, 2013

I have a drag & drop interaction and the results slide only reports the correct results if all question are answered correctly. It's 5 drag & drop. Each question is worth 20 points with a passing score of 80 points.

If I answer all 5 questions correctly, the results slide will show:

Your Score: 100% (100 points)

Passing Score: 80% (16 points)

If I answer 1 question incorrectly, I should have a score of 80 points and still pass. However, the results slide will show:

Your Score: 0% (0 points)

Passing Score: 80% (16 points)

I can't look at how the variables calculate the score so I'm uncertain what is going on. Any ideas?

Good morning Sandie,

Personally, I'm not too experienced with individually scoring a drag and drop quiz. However, I do believe it's because of some limitations with the scoring. Hopefully I can explain this a little, without confusing you or myself

Basically, it seems that Storyline considers the entire drag and drop interaction as one question. This would assign the 20 points if all are correct, but will see it as 0 if one selection is wrong.

I did do some looking around this morning and I found a post by Kevin Thorn that may help with this. He provides a method that will assign points to each individual drag target and response, so they're scored separately. Take a look at this thread and see if his suggestions will work for you.

I'm sure that there are other ways to do this too, maybe one of our talented Heroes can provide some additional suggestions.

Thanks Sandie!

Christine
