Results slide viewed twice

Apr 05, 2018

HI,  I am fairly new to storyline and need some advice please.  I have a quiz towards the end of a section of my course. If FAIL then the results slide has a Review Quiz button. If clicked, the quiz is shown indicating the correct answers. Then when the user click on Next the Results slide is shown again with the Review Quiz button.  I don't want this slide to show again but rather after the quiz has been reviewed and the user click on Next that the 1st slide of the new section is displayed and not the Results slide again. Hope this makes sense!

Can you share the story file it will be easier to help you if we can look at the setup and recommend something. If you are replying via email the attachments won’t display you’d need to click on the View not Reply and attach the file here in the forum. Also when you reply via email your email details are displayed and you may want to edit those out

Here are some screens:

If you get the quiz wrong after 3 attempts you get this screen: The continue button takes you to the Results slide.

Here your Fail mark is shown and you can review the answers by clicking on the Review Quiz - This takes you back to the quiz slide with the correct answers shown. Then the user clicks Next and it brings you back to this slide... That is what I am trying to prevent. I cant find where the NEXT button / arrow is linked back to this slide again?

Taking a stab without seeing the file.

When you review the quiz the last quiz slide when Next is clicked will take you to the Result slide.  You can add a trigger

Jump to slide 2.19 when user clicks Next button on condition 'attempts' = 3 and results.scorepoints < results.passpoints.

Hi Linda

see if the attached works how you want.

I changed the variable puzzleattempt in the variable list to default to 1 as the first run through the quiz slide is the first attempt, then it increments by one.

I created a variable called review and attached a trigger to the review button. I moved the review button to the failure layer and added a trigger on the failure layer to jump to 1.3 when the timeline starts on condition that review=true and attempts=3.

There is a slight flash as it jumps the slide but you could try adding a transition so it doesn't seem so apparent.
