Resume feature not working on mobile browser

Nov 01, 2021

Hi,

The resume feature seems to be working when using a desktop but it is not working on mobile browser. The resume and restart button appears but when clicked it doesnt start from the same slide but it starts from the beginning. When exporting the file I have selected scorm 2004 - 4th edition and the prompt to resume option is enable. Please help.

Hi Basil!

I'm happy to help! Which Learning Management System are you using? If your course is not resuming, it could be because your LMS might be imposing limits on suspend data. Have you reached out to your LMS administrator yet? If not, they might be able to pinpoint if this is an issue within the LMS or the Storyline 360 course.

Also, you might consider testing your course in another LMS environment, like SCORM cloud, to see if the same resume behavior occurs in another LMS environment.

We are here if you have additional questions!

We are using Learndash LMS. We have built our LMS internally using Learndash and Grassblade LRS. If the LMS was imposing limits on suspend data then the resume feature wouldn't work on laptop/desktop too right? But its working fine on laptop and desktop. It is just not working properly on mobile. How can I send you the .story file for you to check internally? I can't upload any file above 500mb. My file is 2gb. Please let me know.

Hi Basil!

I'm so sorry you didn't receive my teammate Georvy's response to your support case! I'll go ahead and forward the email again, but in the meantime, I'll share the details here:

  • Is this happening to a specific mobile device, or does it happen to all mobile devices?
  • What is the mobile device used? What about the browser version?
  • Have you tried using a different mobile browser (e.g., mobile chrome, mobile safari, android browser) to verify if the issue persists?
  • Is the mobile browser updated? See these system requirements with mobile browsers for viewing Storyline published courses.
  • What is your LMS? Have you tried uploading your course in SCORM Cloud then testing it using a mobile device? Here are those steps and helpful troubleshooting tips.

If your course works in SCORM Cloud but not in your LMS, Georvy recommends contacting your LMS provider for next steps. Please let me know if you received the email I forwarded and any follow-up questions!

Hello DKPR,

As mentioned by my colleagues, have you tried testing your course in SCORM Cloud so you can see if the issue is specific to your LMS? You can create a free account here, and this video shows how to use SCORM Cloud with your Articulate content.

If you are able to replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private through a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening?
