Revealing a "Ready for the Test?" slide after visiting all content

May 08, 2014

Hi Everyone,

Having some issues with some unlockable content.

Basically, I have 8 menu items. Once all 8 items have been visited and the user returns to the menu, I want to navigate to either a layer or slide (doesn't matter which) that asks the user if they are ready to take the final test.

I've tried using a 'Jump To' trigger with state changes and conditions. The result was that when the user click on the last menu item, the program jumped to the pre-test layer before actually viewing the last menu item content.

I also tried going the variable route and ensure that all variable changes were listed in the proper trigger order to ensure they're logged. Same results.

I believe the issue is that because the "Are you Ready" trigger is a Slide Trigger and not an object like the others, that's why it is executing first and skipping that last item content.

Any thoughts on how to get around this? Open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Luke,

I'd create a T/F trigger for each menu item (Topic 1, Topic 2 etc.), set the default value to FALSE and then add a trigger to the last slide of each topic to adjust the applicable variable to TRUE.

Then, on the menu slide, add a trigger that shows layer "Are you ready" when the timeline of the menu slide starts, but on the condition that ALL topic variables equal TRUE.

Thanks Anthony!

I had to do some tweaking, but got it to work. I ended up having to do another variable with initial setting of false, and make that variable True, and all the other menu item variables were true. Then, trigger the navigation to the test slide.

Not sure why I needed to add that additional variable, but it worked, so I'm going for it.

Thanks for the suggestion!
