Did you double check that the results slide you're using has those same variables associated with it? I've seen issues before where a user added more than one results slide - and some how the variables got a bit jumbled and then would not display the score on the slide. You'll also want to make sure that results slide is tracking all the questions you've identified within your course for scoring.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean in regards to the giant font? Could you explain a bit more?
