SCORM and TINCan Exam Publishing Results

Sep 22, 2015

We have found that publishing content in TinCan produces better results for mobile devices (allows screen to be res-sized)

But I noticed that exam results are different with Tincan. The course is identical and has only (3) exam questions. Tincan results show 30%, and the SCORM shows 100%. (seen in attachment) To pass the user must have 100%.  Any suggestions on why the 30% ?

Hi, Tracy -- Thanks for your question and for providing the screenshot. Have you tested both published output files in the SCORM Cloud to see if you find the same result? You may also want to review these articles on Troubleshooting LMS with SCORM Cloud:

Hope that helps, and please let me know if issues persist. If you find that both output files function correctly in the SCORM Cloud, you may want to reach out to your LMS provider directly for further assistance.

Hi Christie - Than you. No I have not tested in SCORM Cloud yet. But the LMS provider sent me the message below. I guess this may be the only workaround using TinCan. But not sure where to make the changes in Storyline 2 ?

From LMS Provider -> ""We had a customer who had a similar problem in Storyline and their solution was to set each question with a certain percentage, e.g if the course has 5 questions, each question will be set at 20% or in your case 34%. This can be done in Storyline.""

Hi Tracy -- I am not sure what type of question format you are using, but from Form view, you should see an area at the bottom of the screen where you can manually adjust the number of points per question.

Please give that a try and let me know if that helps. If not, I may need to put you in touch with our Support Engineers for additional assistance. :)
